What is Vibe Colonizing?
This is colonizing without actual practical colonization experience. Like Vibe Coding is for software.
Vibe Colonizing: A Guide
These are clearly not normal times and yet we are still normal people. The dissonance can be a bit much at times. Vibe Living helps.
Have you heard of Vibe Living?
Vibe Living is an offshoot of Vibe Coding, an exciting new way of creating software products without having to know how to code. It’s bringing software development to the masses, allowing all sorts of people—people like you and me who didn’t do well at math—to create software products and even businesses. It’s huge! Millions of people all over the world are already Vibe Coding.
Vibe coding leads to Vibe Working. Which is a bit like Vibe Coding, but for more general work tasks. Think of all the scheduling, note taking, summarizing, emailing, ordering things like printer paper, which now you don't need to actually do.
Advanced Vibe Workers can get spreadsheets to make sense, technical issues to resolve themselves, presentations to present themselves, contracts to sign themselves, printers to fix themselves—you get the vibe. This frees you up to do more human-type work, whatever that means.
Look, it’s not perfect. Vibe Coders can get a lot of things wrong. Their stuff breaks down, it doesn’t work as expected, it opens serious security vulnerabilities and other nasty bugs. It’s still important to learn how to code.
Many Vibe Workers don’t know what to do with themselves now that AI does all the things they used to do. Many have never done any other type of work before.
Still, all of this is a step in the right direction: democratizing access to software, printers, automatic responses, and hybrid unemployment for the masses.
This is where Vibe Living comes in, which is really all about getting the most out of what’s left of your life. For example, your Vibe House wakes the kids, dresses them and brushes their teeth, feeds them hyper-personalized nutrition while they catch up on their stocks, and then self-drives them to their rhythmic gymnastics, surfing, skating, and Krav Maga classes.
While the kids are twerking and learning how to disarm an attacker with a knife, the Vibe Kitchen prepares dinner, does their homework, lines up their Disney+/Apple TV/YouTube shorts for the evening, and presto: happy Wi-Fi happy life.
Later the AI brings them back home in flying cars if there’s too much carnage on the roads.
For a certain set of people in the world, Vibe Living bleeds right into Vibe Colonizing.
This is colonizing without actual practical colonization experience. Like Vibe Coding is for software.
For example, it could be as simple as paying a mortgage on a house you “own” without investigating how your plot was taken from someone else; or whether they took it from someone else, and so on and so forth, going back 5,000 years, give or take. Most Vibe Colonizers just don’t think that way.
Vibe colonizers go about their day doing colonization things like getting others to plant a vegetable garden, buy imported or even “locally produced” furniture, renovate the house. You really can get a lot of help for these things. They’re hardly the hard-work things they used to be in the early days of the Colony.
However, buying a second home, or even a home for your children, is quite deliberate, so is not considered Vibe Colonizing. That’s just colonizing, no vibe about it. These kinds of things could land you in court.
Breeding and owning dog colonizers (Dogonizers?) could be considered vibe colonizing, especially if you're breeding non-indigenous strains whose genes have been carefully tweaked by professionals, like Labradoodles.
Breeding child colonizers is also deliberate, unless the child was unplanned, in which case you could say you were vibe procreating. Sending your children off to the Colonizing Army is super active colonizing, unless you’ve raised illiterate, obese or diabetic children with motor disfunction and severe anxiety, who take huge amounts of pills every day.
If you have managed to raise children like that, then you have passed on your Vibe Colonizing genes on to your children. Good genes make good fences. Good fences make good colonizers.
To sum up: just like Vibe Coding, Vibe Working, and Vibe Living, Vibe Colonizing, while not without its flaws, is a step in the right direction. Democratizing access to colonization for more people who don’t have a chance to become colonizers is a fundamentally human right, is it not? This is progress, no?
