Google has taken heat recently from new generative AI entrants, even though its engineers pioneered generative AI technology.
Alphabet, Google’s parent company, has reportedly invested some $120 billion in artificial intelligence and cloud computing since 2016.
Google tried to bounce back with its own AI chatbot called Bard, but that bombed, taking about $100 billion off Alphabet’s market cap —essentially wiping out Google’s investments into AI.
Everyone is waiting for Google to accept Satya Nadella’s invitation to an AI dance-off.
